Evans Middle School Band Go Panthers!

THANK YOU for your participation with this year's fundraisers. As promised, we are now ready to accept orders for the Yard Signs. The order form is attached and is also located on the Charms (www.charmsoffice.com) and at the Evans Band site (www.evansband.org) available to print. Please print a copy and complete your order along with cash or check by FRIDAY - JANUARY 9, 2009. Yard signs will be available for pick-up from 3:15pm-6:00pm on MONDAY - JANUARY 26, 2009.

We could not reschedule our concert for Thursday due to conflicts with our students who are on the Evans basketball teams and because this is the night of the MHS band concerts (we know that many of you have students in both programs and that you cannot be in two places at once!) We also know that many of our students are leaving town Friday afternoon and evening, so that would be a bad night for our concert, too!

The following students earned a spot in the All-Region Bands: Kayla Crowley, Michelle Dulock, Mackenzie Ford, Ryan Brinkman, Eamon Dowd, Jumaane Ross-Brown, Austin Jeter, Matthew Meyer, Katie Morris, Mark Bakke, Erik Raibick, Brooks Johnston, Michael Hiefner, Austin Roberts, and Matthew Roberts. They are truly the BEST OF THE BEST! These students are among the top 10% of all students who play their instrument in our entire region. Congratulations on this huge honor!

I would like to congratulate three groups of students. First of all we are very proud of all of the students who had the guts to go through with the auditions for the All-Region Bands today. You have worked with enthusiasm and energy and have developed into truly advanced musicians. I truly hope that you heard someone who inspired you today and that you know how much you have learned in such a short amount of time, because that it the goal of this process. A big thank you to Angela Bouley and to all of the parents who worked at the Concession stands this year. You did a fantastic job in helping to raise funds for our program. Many parents have commented on how much fun they had, so we hope to have even more involvement in the years to come!
